Around 30 identified student-leaders are now being called for a
mediation hearing in their respected barangays to answer the charges of the
Ledesmas.
On August 29, Plebeeboy Nalzaro, CSSG vice-president, and Mark
Dave Casaquit faced Barangay VI Captain Reynaldo Batusin who told both parties
that he aims to settle the matter without having it land on the court.
During the hearing, Mr. Ledesma alleged that the said students
called him and his wife "corrupt" without showing any proof that they
have corrupted the school funds. The reinstalled CNC school director also
alleged that this statement was
published on NRWP as per interview of Nalzaro.
In answer, Nalzaro said the word "corrupt" was never
uttered but that they enumerated their demands and grievances and their
criticism on the lack of progress in CNC under the couple's management.
Upon Batusin’s request to settle the matter on the first
mediation, the Ledesmas refused and said that they had been "hurt" by
what the students said against them and that the statements caused
"irreparable" damage to their reputation.
Meanwhile, CSSG President Cynthia Bacaron also attended a
mediation hearing with the Ledesmas last August 30 at the Barangay II Hall
under the jurisdiction of Barangay Captain Roberto Mercado.
Commission on Higher Education Region VI Director Virginia
Resurreccion could not be reached for comment on the matter. While, Department
of Education-Division of San Carlos Supt. Cynthia Demavivas said that she could
not comment on the matter since the students involved are all in college. Deped
is only concerned with high school students.
