Food for Tooth
By Otto George I. Weber

German Cut

Together with our two grandkids, the wife and I had a couple of satisfying meals at the newly re-opened Skyland Restaurant and Deli (cor. Broce and Endrina Sts.). Now with German chef Marcel at the kitchen helm, the place has been given a makeover- resulting in a cool and elegant effect.
Giving him a free hand to ‘surprise’ us both times, we thoroughly enjoyed the full-course European dinner whipped up by the kitchen master. The appetizer, soup, salad and main course were so filling, we hardly had any room left for dessert. Notably, the prices are quite reasonable.
We also got to check out the deli’s stock of various German sausages and cold cuts. About a dozen types of European bread were likewise on display while different wines are made available to go with one’s meal.
The waitresses were fast and friendly. I liked the soft, white towel for drying in the clean and spotless restroom.
Telling me that he believes San Carlos is ready for this kind of dining, I sure hope Chef Marcel succeeds. Besides leaving his restaurant fully-satisfied twice, my grandkids also learned that there is more to eating than just having fast food meals.
