WANTED: Eng’r
Polls 2013 approaches fast, City admin now fishing to fill one spot

The local administration coalition is looking for an engineer to replace SP Member Greg Santillan's slot for elections 2013.
City Mayor Gerardo Valmayor told NRWP that Santillan's term will end next year and he can no longer seek re-election as a councilor. Since Santillan is the chairman of the committee on engineering, Valmayor said their team is looking for an engineer who can handle the committee.
"We'll be looking for an engineer to head that committee," the mayor said and added that rumor mills had it wrong when it was speculated that a barangay captain and businessman is slated to take the soon-to-be vacant SP slot.
Re-election
For Valmayor's own plans, he assured that he will be seeking re-election together with the rest of the city officials who still have a term or two left.
Despite being uncertain about the political plans of ally Cong. Julio Ledesma IV, he firmly stated that, "He supports our team." Valmayor added that he heard about Board Member Nene Dela Cruz's plan to gun against Ledesma but that they had not discussed the matter during the several times that they had seen each other recently.
Father as fan
Valmayor was interviewed as he was avidly supporting his son, Ginggoy, during the Visayas-wide Suzuki Cup U-22 match of Negros Occidental Football Association (NOFA) against Cebu Football Association. The mayor's son, who played in jersey no. 9, was one of the top strikers for NOFA together with other players from San Carlos City namely: Robert Mendoza, Ryan Lirio, John Wendell Marcellana, Florence Aggraviador, Jay Baguioro, Timothy Bolo, Benito Rosalia and Jimmy Malalo-an.
NOFA booters won 2-0 as they kicked their first goal during the last seconds of the first half and another goal during the second.
