No enrollment on day 1
-Demavivas
"There
will be no enrollment on Monday."
This is the new Department of Education policy. Cynthia
Demavivas, Asst. Schools Division Superintendent and OIC of the DepEd-Division
of San Carlos explained that DepEd wants formal classes to begin right on the
opening day and that an early enrollment for first graders had been conducted
last January and enrollment for other levels had been opened three weeks ago
for this purpose.
Thousands of students
As of May 30, 15,270 enrolled elementary pupils and 2,026
secondary students are expected to flock the public schools in San Carlos.
Based on the same report, Don Carlos Ledesma National
Highschool in Barangay Buluangan and Julio Ledesma National Highschool have
already surpassed their respective enrollment targets.
Enroll now!
Demavivas wants to remind parents that they should enroll their
students until Sunday, June 3 since she has requested teachers to accommodate
those who have not yet enrolled. Upon inspection of several schools in San
Carlos, she has discovered that there are still returning students who failed
to register.
The assistant schools division superintendent-OIC also
emphasizes that there is "no collection of fees and no requirements for
enrollment."
"No [fees] maski na nag-volunteer and parents. No
collection gid ya. And, don't make requirements for enrollment even the
birth certificate. Ask for it later," Demavivas stated.
DepEd no longer wants fees and requirements to hinder students
from enrolling and attending school.
