Area I Meet comes
to SCC

Area I Athletic and Cultural Meet comes to San Carlos City after four years and opened on November 22, at the Ramon Magsaysay Elementary School and Tandang Sora Elementary School grounds.
With close to 3,500 delegates from outside the city, excluding game officials, the Area I Meet games are being held in key venues including San Julio Realty, Inc. (SJRI) grounds for football, baseball and softball, People's Park for swimming, and the City Auditorium for indoor court games like badminton.

Magdalena:
Is there a need to decriminalize prostitution?

Due to the hodgepodge of too many events that cram front pages, many haven't noticed that some lawmakers are now lobbying for the decriminalization of prostitution. It isn't new-both prostitution and the proposal. On TV, we often get a dose of investigative programs that lead to the apprehension of sex workers that thrive in con massage parlors. Even here in San Carlos, we know how a police officer drove away the iconic "Magdalena sa Kawayanan" after the ladies tried to hitch him in unknowing he was a police officer.

When a girl just wants to have fun...
What could possibly go wrong?

Shot Glass
By Charmaine Sanchez

-Continued from the previous edition.
After that night, my friends never again had trouble in convincing me to go out with them at night. I learned to wear the right clothes and with Tatay's monthly padala, I bought a lot of shorts and skirts in Divisoria. I had no reason to look like a farm girl anymore and I really wanted to look like a real girl. Nikki taught me how to use make-up. She taught me a few techniques in adding pretty shades to my eyes, what lipstick color would look good on me, and the right scent of perfume to use. From head to foot, I was definitely a changed lady and it made me feel really good. A few changes wouldn't hurt. What could possible go wrong?

The big stink

To anybody in San Carlos, this immediately triggers the response: ETHANOL!
Originally heralded as the major coup for San Carlos is its economic development, this operation is now resented and even hated by much of the population. When this journal first raised these concerns, the company responded with declarations that this was all about teething problems and they promised all would be resolved.
